HSK Level 2 is the second‑level test of the New Chinese Proficiency Test. It corresponds to Level 2 of the International Chinese Language Proficiency Standards and CEF A2, requiring mastery of 300 Chinese words.
Candidates who pass HSK 2 can conduct simple, direct communication on familiar daily topics and reach a high‑intermediate‑beginner Chinese level.
Test Overview
- Sections: Listening (35 items) & Reading (25 items), total 60 questions
- Duration: About 55 minutes (including personal‑information filling). Listening ~25 mins, Reading 22 mins
- Scoring: Listening full score 100; Reading full score 100; total score 200. 120 points or above means passing.
- Validity: HSK scores are permanently valid. For Chinese university admission, scores are valid for 2 years from test date.
